Frequently asked questions
Q. How can I book an appointment?
We run online clinics Wednesday – Friday which includes day and evening appointments.
You can book an appointment with us directly online here or if you aren’t sure what’s the best option for you, you can book your FREE discovery call here
Q. What can I expect from my appointment?
Initial consultations will include a full assessment of your medical history, lifestyle and dietary habits, and we will reach a nutritional diagnosis. You will be sent a Nutritional Treatment Plan and any other resources you may need after the consultation. Follow-up consultations will involve reviewing your treatment and offering ongoing support in implementation or adaptation of your plan.
Q. How many appointments do I need?
This will vary for each individual and will be discussed at your first consultation or during your discovery call in more detail.
Q. Will you be prescribing supplements and herbs?
This is determined on a case-by-case basis. As the research suggests, we do typically see the best results from whole diet and lifestyle strategies, as opposed to supplements. If you are interested in a particular supplement, we can help answer any questions you may have. Importantly, we will only ever recommend a supplement where there is evidence to support doing so.
Q. Do I need to have any tests done before my appointment?
You do not need to have any tests done before your first appointment, and we will only recommend blood or other tests if they are indicated and valid.
Sometimes we recommend a referral to a gastroenterologist or other healthcare professional for further investigation or treatment. We will provide you with a supporting letter if required.
Q. Do I have to prepare anything before my assessment?
A pre-assessment and consent to treat form will be sent to you at the time of booking. You will also be asked to sign terms and conditions. If you have any test results or medical letters to hand, these may helpful but don’t worry if you don’t.
Q. What happens if I can’t make my booked appointment?
We operate a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you can no longer make your appointment, please let us know at least 48 hours before by emailing us at hello@dietitianforwomenshealth.com. We kindly ask all patients to respect this policy so we can continue to provide a high-quality service and allow others on our waiting list to fill the sessions.
For cancellations or requests to change less than 48 hours before your appointment, or for non-attendance, we are not able to offer a refund or change the appointment and the full fee will apply. If you are late arriving for your appointment, the time for the consultation will be reduced accordingly. There will be no corresponding reduction or refund in the fee. Note that late arrivals more than 15 minutes after the allotted clinic time will be treated as non-attendance.
We reserve the right to refuse requests for refunds sent within 48 hours of the appointment or after the appointment has taken place. However, we understand that many of our patients have complex medical needs, so if you have a medical emergency or a valid reason for cancelling/not attending, please contact us.
Important Notes
Tax Refunds
Tax refunds are available for clients residing in Ireland.
MED.1 forms are no longer available to obtain tax relief on medical expenses.
The new way of claiming is a Form 12 for PAYE workers, or Form 11 for self-assessed or revenue online tax returns.
Cancellation Policy
We ask for 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellation in order to avoid a late cancellation fee of 50% of the consultation price. Failure to attend an appointment without providing any notice will be charged the full consultation fee and will be asked to pay for their next appointment in advance.
